First Vehicles With Next-Generation Apple CarPlay PreviewedĪston Martin and Porsche this week previewed the first vehicle dashboards with support for Apple's next-generation CarPlay experience, which is expected to be available at some point in 2024. IOS 17.3 remains in beta, and has two significant new features so far, including Stolen Device Protection and collaborative Apple Music playlists. Unlike in the U.S., the release notes for iOS 17.2.1 in China and Japan indicate that the update also " addresses an issue that can cause the battery to drain faster under certain conditions." Apple Releases iOS 17.2.1 Update for iPhoneĪpple this week released a minor iOS 17.2.1 update for the iPhone with "important bug fixes." President Joe Biden has until December 25 to review the order, but presidential vetoes of ITC import bans have historically been rare.Īpple is reportedly working on software changes to address the alleged patent infringement, but Masimo believes that the Apple Watch's hardware design will have to change to become compliant. after finding that Apple violated Masimo's patents related to non-invasive blood oxygen sensing. ![]() In October, the International Trade Commission (ITC) ordered a ban on some Apple Watch imports into the U.S. retail stores will cease after December 24, and Apple will be unable to perform out-of-warranty hardware repairs on many recent Apple Watch models. due to an ongoing patent dispute with medical tech company Masimo, which has accused Apple of copying its blood oxygen sensing functionality. Due to Patent Disputeįollowing an announcement earlier this week, Apple has "paused" online sales of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the U.S. Other news and rumors this week involved an iOS 17.2.1 bug fix update, rumors about the iPhone 16 and "Apple Watch X," and more, so read on below for all the details! Apple Pauses Sales of Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 in U.S. The week's biggest news was Apple's move to halt sales of its flagship Apple Watch models over a patent dispute, while Apple also squeaked in under the wire to tease the first implementation of next-generation CarPlay from a couple of car manufacturers before the end of the year. 2023 is rapidly drawing to a close with the holiday season, but that certainly doesn't mean there hasn't been any major Apple news over the past week.

Warband We've been tracking this Cylon strike force for a while now. In addition to Tylium and Requisition Point awards, this mission also impedes the Cylons with an FTL movement penalty. An early game missile barrage will easily kill them from a distance without having your entire fleet go all the way to them. The satellites themselves have no armour, start the battle revealed, and have only 4 hit points. In this mission, your fleet must destroy several captured satellites as well as a Cylon fleet guarding them. ![]() I've sent you the coordinates to the encoded network they're using. Surprise surprise, there's Cylons involved. Interference I've tracked down some of the phantom frequencies we keep bumping into in this system. This mission yields the standard rewards of Tylium and Requisition Points. Destroy the remaining Cylons to complete the mission. The civilian ships only need to be protected for 16 turns before they jump away, leaving the rest of your fleet with the Cylons. Similar to the Media Stunt mission, this mission has your fleet protect civilian craft from a Cylon fleet. In addition to Tylium and Requisition Points, this mission offers extra experience points to the officer who participates.Įvacuation A political rally has been attacked by a roving Cylon fleet. Capturing the satellites is optional, and if your fleet isn't particularly mobile, can take a very long time. To complete this mission, simply destroy all enemies while keeping a transport intact. Given the option, Cain would rather leave them out there, but I might be able to wrangle a good counter story, if you can find me an officer who isn't shy of a few cameras. An anti-Caprican "alternative news" team is broadcasting their live feed after bumbling into a known Cylon patrol. In addition to Tylium and Requisition Points, this mission often gives the Cylons a 3-turn FTL cooldown, freezing enemy fleets in place temporarily. Similar to Hub Assault, though the station appears different. The Quorum have agreed to underwrite any ore destroyed it's more important that the Cylons don't bring the refinery online. In order to complete the mission, both the hub and the enemy fleet must be destroyed.Ĭylon engineering crews have been trying to restart this refinery ever since they took it from local forces. This allows players to sling torpedoes and missiles at it at mission start. The station itself has no armour, no weapons, and is automatically identified at the mission start. In addition to an enemy fleet, the Cylons have a single large station that must be destroyed. Taking it out will big a big ol' kick in the logistics for Cylon Command in this system. Hub Assault This shipping hub has been converted into a staging area for atmospheric invasion teams. In addition to Tylium and Requisition Points, this mission usually provides a discount to a weapon. Once you've boarded the ship, destroy all enemies, including the boarded Cylon vessel. To complete this mission, use a Raptor Squadron's Boarding ability on a specified enemy ship. We suspect the flagship might have some new trick up its sleeve that we haven't seen yet, so caution is advised. Local forces have been unable to slow it down at all. Tactical Advantage This particular fleet has been making life hell for the colonies. This device’s audio out is plugged into the Monoprice Amp. iTunes: I am using an old low profile pc in my network rack to run my Home Sharing iTunes.Controlling Amazon music playback and playlist/search would be awesome integration too. These dots are meshed into a group and there is one directly hooked via Aux-L/R connection to the Monoprice Amp. Echo: I am controlling the echo dots to play an assortment of Amazon echo services (music, books, etc.) via echo commands from Echo Dots through out the home.TV Inputs and Line-in/BT are pretty straight forward, whatever audio is going through those would be sent to the zone.Įcho and iTunes inputs are slightly different. Input Control: Each input is controlled respectively, however this what I would like to streamline. I have 6 wall mounted controllers setup in each of the respective zones to control the input and volume. Zone Control: I am able to change each zone to play an input either in sync with other zones, or independently. I have my configuration setup where I have 6 zones and 6 inputs. My use case is that I have a setup using the Monoprice multizone amp ( ) that I have my line-ins configured to. However, the issue or room for improvement would be to integrate all the functionality of the “Apple Remote” type app into ST directly, the current setup is not exactly user friendly since it requires app switching, which confuses my wife and other non-techy family members. I understand your points, and the multi app process has been working for myself. I am open to discussing this more and helping in anyway I can. Not limiting this to be run from a Mac only environment. Must make this a multi-platform use-case.Use the created Device to integrate into the # actiontiles platform (as this is what I use personally for my system), much like the Sonos type setup.Use the same framework in the Retune app to create a SmartApp that creates a Device Type to control basic controls of the Apple Music playback.I know there was a project by going on that allowed for a Mac to be controlled via Smartthings, however for those of use that don’t own Mac’s his solution didn’t work. I am not a developer, yet I can see the great usage case for this functionality. Unfortunately the developer for that app has not made any changes or updated in several years, yet the app works still. ![]() I can control my music playback remotely to that device and other Airplay devices via the app. I am currently using an android app called Retune that allows me to connect to my “server” computer running iTunes. My hope is someone can help me figure out how to integrate the Apple MusicKit integration via JS to control a local library and/or Apple Music account. Just make sure you bring your modular SFX power supply. And the Terra's flip-up doors and adjustable spine make this case surprisingly easy to build in for something so compact. But if you don't need to pack in the absolute most powerful components (particularly on the CPU side) and you don't need more than a few storage drives, Fractal has once again delivered one of the prettiest cases available – especially if you want a respite from the RGB and aggressive designs that dominate the gaming side of the PC realm. I doubt it will have as wide an appeal as its larger North cousin, since component and airflow options are far more limiting here. ![]() As compact cases go, this is one of the prettiest around. But at 10.4 liters, the Mini-ITX Fractal Design Terra case has (just) enough room for most big GPUs, while delivering eye-catching aesthetics thanks to an aluminum exterior with some real wood trip up front. The smallest DIY PC cases from just a few years ago have often been thwarted by the increased cooling needs and size of today's components – particularly graphics cards like Nvidia's RTX 4090. Read: NZXT H7 Flow review Best Performance-Focused ATX Case And if you don't like the look of the fully vented front and you aren't that concerned about keeping your temps a low as they can go, the non-Flow H7 model has a solid front, but with everything else we loved about the H7 Flow. That, combined with the boxy look and perforated front means this case isn't the prettiest on our list, but it can certainly look good with some tasteful lighting delivered via your components, extra fans or a light strip. The primary missing feature here, which will feel refreshing for many builders, is the lack of any RGB to light up your system. ![]() ![]() It's also a pleasure to build in, with good cable management and a $130 MSRP that's quite reasonable in this era of seemingly ever-increasing prices. With just two of the company's F120Q Airflow case fans behind a skeletal frame with a perforated front panel, the NZXT H7 Flow manages to deliver excellent temperature and noise level numbers in our testing, beating or competing well against pricier chassis with more fans and glass panels. But priced about $30 more than the Corsair case, with somewhat noisy fans and CPU thermals that weren't quite as good as we'd expect from a mesh front case with three 140mm spinners, it's not as easy to recommend as Corsair's 4000X RGB. Read: Corsair Obsidian Series 4000X RGB ReviewĪlternatively, if you're after something with a bit more flexibility, the Lian Li Lancool III RBG is an impressive option with movable front IO, excellent cable management and lots of internal space. Add to that Corsair’s class-leading RGB ecosystem, and you’ve got a very pretty case that’s convenient in use and always looks good, no matter what you install inside it. While it won’t blow you away with premium materials such as aluminum, the dark tinted glass ensures that you only see RGB lighting inside the case, allowing you to be a little sloppy with cable management because you won’t see it anyway. Indeed, the 4000X RGB (as well as the similar 4000D airflow), is an extremely easy and convenient chassis to build a system in, and everything just makes sense. Priced at about $135 now, it’s not cheap, but its design is thoroughly considered and as you build with it, it’s clear where Corsair’s gaming and PC building pedigree comes from. We hope Fractal's bold move inspires other case makers to try something different.įans don’t spin fast enough for extreme performance requirementsĬorsair’s 4000X RGB is a sleek gaming tower that comes with two glass panels and three RGB spinners. But if you're after a case that matches the pretty furniture in your living room, has lots of room for storage, and won't break the bank at $130, nothing else comes close to the North. If you don't like the case's looks, then the company's Meshify 2 Compact (below), is probably a better option for you. The glass side panel may help a bit on the noise front, but likely at the cost of at least some thermal performance. ![]() Just note that it can get noisy when delivering those temps. Available with either a mesh side (as we tested) or tempered glass, and in white with chrome accents on the IO and feet, or black with some seriously pretty brass, this is arguably the prettiest PC case ever produced, period.Īnd thanks to its pair of 140mm fans and an included side bracket (for the mesh model) that can hold another pair of 140mm fans (not included), the North has excellent thermals as well. We aren't sure who asked for a PC case that mixed mid-century modern design (wooden slats and all) and high airflow, but we sure are glad that Fractal Design answered with the excellent North mid-tower. The second drive ended in an interception on 4th & 3, the ninth for quarterback Mikey Keene of 2023. ![]() It was the fourth time in the past five weeks that Fresno State scored an opening drive touchdown, but a familiar problem re-emerged – the struggle to sustain success. On 3rd-and-1, where the Bulldogs have attempted short throws before, they stuck with Sherrod and hit paydirt. ![]() On 2nd-and-10, Sherrod carried the ball nine yards. Sherrod rewarded the confidence of offensive coordinator Pat McCann, who called the running back’s number in situations where he previously opted to pass. The night began promising enough for Fresno State – a defensive stop, an Aztec punt, and a 62-yard touchdown run from Malik Sherrod. Yet entering Saturday night, there still existed the glimmer of hope for 10 wins as well as the Oil Can and bragging rights in a rivalry that dates back a century ago. 4 reinserted them into the Coaches’ Poll rankings and on the fringes of the AP poll.īut back-to-back losses to San Jose State and New Mexico – which finished the season 4-8 and fired its head coach a week later – soiled one of the best nine-game starts in program history. Rankings disappeared, conference title hopes were dashed, and more rivalry trophies were lost than won in November, which culminated Saturday in Fresno State’s 33-18 loss at San Diego State. That’s a good thing for the Fresno State Bulldogs, considering the month they started by beating their biggest rival has morphed into one continuous nightmare. Rest assured, November will be over in a few days.
